1934

BICYCLE FRAMES

Jan and Grad Maas register with the Chamber of Commerce. Blasting, painting and enamelling bicycle frames is the most important activity in the first few years.

1951

FIRST GENERATION

Grad takes another path and Jan takes the tiller alone. He is the first of three generations that will ultimately lead the company to 2015.

1976

SECOND GENERATION

After several expansions, the second Jan Maas generation takes over the company. He makes a name for himself as a skilled craftsman and lets the company expand.

1988

THIRD GENERATION

The current general director - also Jan Maas - officially takes office. He primarily focusses on management. His father prefers to stay in the cabins.

1991

RELOCATION

The company moves to its current location on the Bosschebaan in Heesch. Later, these premises are expanded and renovated several times.V

1994

POWDER COATING

Jan Maas is the first wet painting contractor in the Netherlands to move into powder coating; significantly more environmentally-friendly than wet painting

1997

TAKE-OVER

The current director takes the company over from his father. A new hall is built along with a new blasting cabin.

1999

NEW NAME

the company becomes larger and more professional. This requires a new name. Jan Maas & Zn becomes Maas Coating Group.

2001

LARGE BLASTING MACHINE

Another new hall is built. This is to house the biggest blasting machine in the Netherlands. From now on, there will be a two-shift working pattern.

2004

COMPANY TAKE-OVERS

The first company take-over becomes reality. In 2010 and 2012, two more will follow. All three companies are fully integrated into the parent company.

2012

CHEMICAL PRE-TREATMENTS

Maas once again takes a unique step: it is the first company in the Benelux to introduce chemical pretreatment. ‘One stop shopping’ becomes a reality.

2015

SURFACE SOLUTIONS

The fact that Maas has developed substantially as a partner in expertise, asks for a new name and a new slogan:: Maas Coating – Surface solutions.
